Jerry Strum Jerry’s experience as a general contractor, along with his architectural background, gives him the ability to understand the value of integrating design and construction efforts to optimize the project delivery process.  As a result, he is particularly adept at providing clients with accurate information very early on in a project from which to make critical decisions that lead to successful results.

He has expertise in conceptual estimating, scheduling and bid/award as well as performing work as a GC at risk.  Further, his ability to manage scope relative to budget provides a guarantee that the project will remain on target from design through close-out.  He provides pro-active solutions to project issues and takes leadership roles in driving the project team to a cohesive goal.

Jerry’s clients include the Oxford Capital Group, CMK Development, and Phoenix Development.

Before co-founding Daccord, Jerry was Integrated Services Director at Perkins + Will Architects, as well as Head of Construction for Opus North Corporation, a major US development company, and for McClier Corporation, a preeminent design / build company.  He also has acted as a Project Manager and Director for corporate in-house real estate and construction groups for companies such as Digital Equipment Corp., Baxter Travenol Labs, and Litton Industries.

Jerry has a Master of Architecture along with a Master of Business Administration, both received from the University of Illinois at Champaign with high honors, and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture also from the University of Illinois.  He is a LEED AP certified with the USGBC and has held an architectural license in Illinois since his graduation from college.
